Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina began her career with hilarious songs that dealt with racial identity and sexuality with the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her very first musical experience. She played the trumpet. Jazz, classical and hip-hop studies began when she was in her teens. While in college, she took classes in the field of women's studies and journalism. In addition, she spent an hour studying Mandarin in Beijing. Her focus shifted towards music after she graduated. The song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in 2012. It was eventually included on her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also contained viral hits like body-positive Queef and winking tour of her home NYC Bitche$1. This track was directly linked to another project, Awkwafina's NYC a travel guide published in 2015. A musician and author was on her resume she determined to pursue a third endeavor actor. Aside from early TV programs like Girl Code and Tawk, she's been featured in films like Neighbors2Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018 she scored a number of breakthrough roles, such as Dude Ocean's Eight or Crazy Rich Asians. Her EP came out, in Fina We Trust in June of the year.
