Antonia's food provides a way to explore her life. Food she cooks up comes from her curiosity about the culture that is Los Angeles, which was sparked by a trip from Long Island to Los Angeles from Long Island's suburbs. The belief of the fact that cavatelli and carnitas can co-exist seamlessly on the same menu portrays a style that evolves constantly. But what remains is her distinctive idea of the future and looking back to the previous. Scopa Italian Roots opened its doors in 2013 and was immediately popular. Lofaso's take on old-school Italian has been hailed as one of Los Angeles' most compelling Italian restaurant chains. Lofaso has been described as a neighborhood favourite that serves up food that's authentic, delicious and inviting. Lofaso studied under the best chefs to master their methods. She was also not afraid making bold choices to honor her gut instincts. She quickly climbed the ranks of Wolfgang Puck's Spago and then went on to make a difference in the kitchens of famous chefs in Los Angeles while working closely with a variety of famous celebrities. Lofaso launched Black Market Liquor Bar with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi in Studio City, California. With Black Market and the business partnerships she formed Lofaso found an appropriate home. Lofaso could finally enjoy the creative freedom she longed for. Black Market is not constrained by a single direction, and that's the goal. It would start with potato chips flavored with dill Shishito peppers, then finish with Korean Wings. Antonia's bold flavors are the basis of these daring combination. Throughout her career Lofaso has judged her accomplishment by her innate ability to connect with her viewers and remain authentic to her personality. Famous appearances on Top Chef Chicago & Top Chef: All Stars highlighted her unique personality in the cooking area. Her talents are visible in her frequent appearances as a judge on CNBC's Restaurant Startup judge, and on The Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child & the ABC's Real O'neals. Lofaso published The Busy Mom's Cookbook: 100 Quick and Delicious Recipes in 2012, along with Penguin. The book also tells the story of her challenges when she was a student at the French Culinary Institute. She was raising her daughter Xea also. Lofaso believes that her success is due to her passion of cooking and she is capable of keeping her finger on the pulse of the industry through her work on the kitchen.
