Cynthia Ann Crawford (born February 20th 1965) is an American model actor, actress, and TV host. In the 1990s and 1980s she was a supermodel of renown with a prominent appearance on runways and magazines, and also in fashion-related campaigns. Later, she got into acting and launched a company. She received a call in her sophomore year by a local clothing shop asking her to model. However, it was viewed as an ill-informed joke made by two of her peers. Crawford was among the high school girls employed by another retailer, who also had a fashion shoot. Roger Legel, a local photographer approached Crawford to shoot her. He was the one responsible for the photo shoot of another college student for DeKalb Nite Weekly. Crawford was chosen as the first cover. The photograph and the favorable feedback the magazine received helped encourage her to begin modeling. She initially worked for an agency with a small size. It was purchased by Elite Model Management shortly after she signed. At the age of 17, she took part in Elite's Look of the Year contest and was able to make it to the national finals.
